Nordgreen’s minimalist watches

So I guess it’s been kinda customary that I start each post with, long time no see! I can’t believe my last post was in APRIL – although since then, I’ve driven Melbs to Perth with Ken & Cookie, jumped headfirst into two music therapy jobs and been trying to get into a gym routine as well as juggle my various mental health struggles and plan a wedding (no biggie).

The point of this post is to review Nordgreen’s Scandinavian designer watches. I was lucky enough to get my hot little hands on a Nordgreen watch not long ago, and it’s honestly the minimalism lover’s dream. The watches are designed by Jakob Wagner who has been a part of the team of brands such as Bang & Olufsen. There are three different designs to choose from, and I did have difficulty deciding, because they’re all appealingly simple and clean.

Nordgreen is also a start-up I can get behind as they have core values of giving back to the community and social responsibility. For each watch sold, the buyer is able to choose to give back to one of three different causes, using a unique serial number on the back of your watch. Nordgreen has partnered with Water For Good, giving two months of clean water; Pratham Education to give two months of education to a child and Cool Earth, preserving 50 sqm of rainforest. Pretty awesome, I think it’s so important to give back a little no matter how big or small you may be.

I chose the Infinity watch in Silver – 32mm with the mesh strap. The straps are actually interchangeable though, so you can choose to buy multiple straps and switch them around. I love the mesh strap, as it’s breathable, looks really cool and, even though I play guitar and crawl around with kids at work, have found that it doesn’t irritate me or fall down my wrist like other bands have. The 32mm small watch face is modern and sleek, and is much smaller than I’m used to, but makes me question why I’ve always worn such big watches. It’s also very ‘neutral’ because it hasn’t clashed with any outfit I’ve worn.

Well, I think pictures speak louder than words, it’s clearly a beautiful and timeless watch. I love being able to tell the time while looking cuuuute and although this Nordgreen watch was sent to me as a PR sample, however I can safely say that this is my favourite watch I own, even over watches I’ve purchased for $200+ out of my own pocket!!

JORD Wood Watches: A Stylish Tree-t!

Okay well straight off the bat, sorry about the pun in the title #sorrynotsorry. I couldn’t help myself, I’m just acorn-y person 😀

So, I have had the opportunity to work with JORD wood watches and I am thrilled! I have recently gotten back into wearing a watch, and have a shiny silver and a pretty pink, but I’ve never owned a wooden watch before. I had a huge selection to choose from, but decided on the ‘Frankie’ style in dark sandalwood and emerald. It gave me dark, sultry, masculine vibes and I’ve been digging jewel tones coming into Autumn (for those of us in the Southern hemisphere!)

This watch, when it arrived was packaged beautifully. It looks high class and is obviously made to last. I was pleased to know that JORD watches uses natural wood, without the use of any nasty chemicals to treat the wood. The clasps are also stainless steel. I do have sensitive skin to jewellery sometimes, but I’ve worn this watch a few days in a row now and haven’t had any issues.

With Mother’s Day coming up, I was thinking about making a gift guide and these beautiful wooden watches would definitely make the cut as a ‘good daughter’ gift. I’m super excited that I’ve actually got the opportunity to host a giveaway for a $100 gift voucher to go towards your very own stylish JORD wood watch (or even one for a special mum or grandma)! Every person who enters will also get a little sneaky discount off their purchase just for entering, so hey, nothing to lose 🙂

Without further ado, CLOCK HERE TO ENTER THE GIVEAWAY!

(You know I meant click but that was actually a typo that I decided to keep in there…)

This giveaway ends on the 6th of May, so get entering!
