T O B I ~ M A X I   D R E S S

I absolutely adore formal dresses, and frocking up. I honestly wish I had more occasions to act and dress all fancy-like and do my make up. But then again, why do I have to wait until an event comes up?

I received this amazing grey pleated maxi dress from the fashion clothing shop Tobi.com with a beautiful laced up back and decided to wear it immediately just to go out for lunch in Williamstown with the Mr. and take some snaps too. When he saw what I was wearing he raised an eyebrow and was thoroughly amused at my “out for lunch” outfit choice, but he rolled with it, bless his soul 😂😂

I absolutely got stared at by some tradies who were working on the tower behind me, but I don’t blame them. It’s pretty weird for someone to be swirling around a random patch of grass near an industrial area wearing a long flowing dress and a faux fur that’s resemblance is that of a giant gorilla 🔥 I was self conscious for all of about 5 seconds and then I felt empowered actually. Dressing up is the bomb.com!!

Tobi.com is offering free shipping atm for all orders to Australia and they have amazing prices. Go go go if you’re looking for a new swanky outfit to wear to lunch and scare tradies with….or even if you just want a new shirt for work 🙌🏼

It’s Friday and I’m off to all-you-can-eat Japanese. I can’t wait to stuff myself with vegetarian gyoza, edamame, spring rolls, soba noodles and matcha ice cream asap. Hope everyone has a good weekend!

GOLDEN HOUR ✨

Dusk is my favourite time of day – it’s the cusp between afternoon and evening, when shadows start to lengthen and everything starts to slow down and unwind. There’s a reason they call it the “golden hour” and it’s not just because of the soft lighting that we get when the sun starts to set. Though that indeed is a perk and why I choose to take most of my photos at dusk.

This outfit from the Virgin Australia Melbourne Fashion Festival (VAMFF) is one of my favourites, black with a hint of metallic. It’s simple, yet intricate. It’s elegant, yet edgy. When I saw this skirt on ASOS I knew it had to be mine, and what better place to wear it than to fashion week 🙂

ASOS midi skirt // Kookai everyday crop // Dune London bag // Senso Taffy heels

I attended the VAMFF designer runway show on Saturday night with Celeste and we saw some amazing new collection pieces from Thurley, Misha Collection, White Suede and other gorgeous labels. Definitely true to say that we both added a few new pieces to our fashion wishlist for the Autumn/Winter coming. I always love an opportunity to frock up too!

Anyway, gotta go, it’s dusk. Time to make some magic happen ✨✨✨

What’s your favourite time of day, and why?

WHITE TEE // BLUE JEAN

This is my take on the classic white t-shirt, and blue denim look. I wore it on the weekend to go for ice cream and a walk along the beach and Williamstown Botanical Gardens.

L’America t-shirt // atmos&here wrap skirt // Nike sneakers // Lovisa earrings

I absolutely adore this blue chambray wrap skirt I bought last year. It’s been a staple that goes with anything from a casual tee, to a dressy black top, to a collared shirt half-tucked in. The wrap trend is one that I’ve embraced thoroughly and I hope it stays for a long time to come coz I’m planning to continue wrapping myself in things. Why wouldn’t you want to? You become like a present to yourself that you get to unwrap at the end of each day 🙊🙊🙊

Anyway, it feels great to be inspired enough to get back on the blogging bandwagon. Leave me a nice comment, I’m looking forward to checking out some new blogs and also posting more from now on!

Finding love in Japan

This is a true story about me. A story about how an American guy in Japan fell for a Chinese gal in Australia, and the beautiful result of our two worlds colliding.

At the end of last year, I took a chance. I was stressed, unimpressed and tired of my routine. I’d just finished my masters degree. I’d just moved house into a new environment. So I took a chance at finding love. I flew to a small town south of Hiroshima, Japan to meet a guy I had met in Melbourne. We had spent a whirlwind short time with each other in a Melbourne, and realised that we had a strong connection. I took the leap and there in the small town of Iwakuni, in a Japan, I found everything I wanted and more – plus I got to explore Japan for a second time around. I’m a lucky gal 🙂

2017 is a year of chances. A year of love. A year of learning. Hopefully, you might read this and take a chance on love too. I promise it’s worth it.

Japan I’ll be back in July, can’t wait to explore more of your beauty and charm with my love and my friends by my side 💘

B E H O L D 🌱 B A L I

I spent New Year’s in Bali, Indonesia this year. I’d never thought I’d be a Bali type of gal as it seems to have a reputation for being all about Aussies drinking and partying etc but honestly Bali is spectacular. Since it was my first time I didn’t really know what to expect.

Bali’s most popular locations, such as Seminyak and Kuta, were obviously crowded, dirty beaches and loud and unforgiving. It was really interesting to see that many Australian businesses were flourishing there. And there were plenty of delicious cafes and beautiful resorts dotted along the beach.

The real beauty of Bali was when I trekked up Mt. Batur, an active volcano in the island’s North East, and also explored Ubud and surrounds. The pictures tell it better than I can in words.

I cannot wait to get back to Bali and spend more time exploring the wilderness, because I know there are many beaches, waterfalls and forests awaiting the hippie nature-lover that I am!

If anyone has any cool Bali hotspots, eats or tips let me know in the comments!

I N S T A – U P D A T E

I have literally had no proper social life and no proper time or money to blog and make pretty creative things, I’ve barely had time to even make music and that means so much to me. I think the sacrifice has been worth it though! In less than a month I’ll be finished with uni and then I’ll be able to work as a registered music therapist!! Eek!

Anyway I’ve still been posting a little bit of my life on Instagram, so here is my life in squares over the past couple of months. See ya on the flip side (last assignment due 17th of November!!)

Hope everyone else is less stressed than I am at the moment, I honestly cannot wait to just sleep and be a couch potato for a while after this hectic few months.

BIKER JACKET

A well-fitting, good quality biker jacket is a trans-seasonal must have in my fashion books. It’s classy and timeless, yet edgy and fashion-forward. It can be worn in so many different ways, whether you have a more feminine style or you like to look grungy, or you’re into street wear. It suits almost every style I’d say.

For those who are ethically conscious, there are plenty of pleather and leather alternatives out there. I for one don’t buy real leather jackets – a) I prefer to know an animal wasn’t harmed for my outfit and b) there’s no way I would ever be able to afford it anyway 😛

Here is a little style board I put together to show you just how cool biker jackets are.

I bought one from Sportsgirl recently and it has been on high rotation ever since.

What do you guys think of the whole biker jacket trend?

Happy weekend lovelies!
